Vayve Eva Solar Car: Pune based electric vehicle start-up company Wave Mobility has today officially launched the country’s first solar powered car ‘Vayve Eva’ for sale. The company claims that this car will give a driving range of up to 250 km in a single charge.
Vayve Eva Solar Electric Car launched: The second day of the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo (BMGE 2025) in the country’s capital Delhi was also very amazing. Pune based electric vehicle start-up company Wave Mobility has today officially launched the country’s first solar powered car ‘Vayve Eva’ for sale. The starting price of this electric car less than 3 meters has been fixed at just Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). So let’s see what is special in this car-
The prototype model of this electric car was presented to the world in the last Auto Expo. However, the company has made many changes in this car as compared to the previous model. Its width has been increased and the rear tire has also been repositioned. Which helps in increasing the cabin space. The start-up claims that this is the country’s first solar powered electric car. This car has been designed keeping in mind the daily commute in the urban area, which can prove to be a perfect option for your everyday short trips.

Vayve EVA has a single seat in the front which is for the driver and the rear seat has been made slightly wider, on which an adult and a child can sit. A folding tray is provided on the inside of the door next to the driving seat, on which you can keep laptops etc. This driving seat is 6-way adjustable, apart from this the car has a panoramic sunroof.
Size of the car:
Talking about the size of the car, its length is 3060 mm, width 1150 mm, height 1590 mm and ground clearance of 170 mm. It has disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear wheels. Equipped with electric power steering, the turning radius of this car is 3.9 meters. The top speed of this rear wheel drive car is 70 km per hour.
Interior of the car:
Despite being a small car, every effort has been made to provide better space in its interior. It has Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity system along with air conditioning (AC). Its panoramic sunroof gives a more spacious look to the interior of the car. When you sit inside the car, you do not feel its small size.
Driving range:
This is a plugin electric car and has a 14Kwh capacity (Li-iOn) battery pack. It uses a liquid cooled electric motor which generates 12kW of power and 40Nm of torque. Equipped with a single speed automatic gearbox, this car uses a regenerative braking system, which increases the power of the battery a little more. The company claims that this car gives a driving range of up to 250 km in a single charge. The solar panel provided in it can be used in place of the sunroof of the car.
Charging:
This car has been designed for short rides within the city. The total weight of this car is 800 kg and it is capable of lifting a maximum weight of up to 250 kg. The battery of the car can be easily charged from a normal domestic (15A) socket. It takes approximately 4 hours for the battery to be fully charged using a household socket, whereas using a DC Fast Charger (CCS2), it will take just 45 minutes for the battery to be fully charged.
